i mean, i haven't lived in the city for ten years. i live in new york now. but i return a lot, and i came back a lot to research it. and i think that that inevitably did shape my thinking kind of sub consciously. i don't -- unfortunately, though, i don't have any great things to say about those parallels. i mean, i think there is something, obviously, reminiscent of the gold rush in the current tech revolution. certainly what it does to rents and prices which i think you saw pack in the day as well. -- back in the day as well. but, you know, one thing that, the thing that i've thought about a lot and haven't come up with a very good answer is that the prosperity in san francisco in the 1860 really finances its literary scene. that because it's such a rich city, you can have so many newspapers, and people have the leisure time to read them. if you go into the library of congress for 1860 to 1870, you find more than 300 different papers published in san francisco over that period in english, mandarin, german, french, you name it. so that really allows a lot of
